Time For Another Spook!

Hi everyone! Happy October! The spooky season is officially upon us, which of course means right behind it, I see Christmas! (Your boos mean nothing, I’ve seen what makes you cheer!) In any case, I hope that you’ve all had a wonderful start to the fall and are ready to start hunkering down as the cold arrives! I know I sure am after the last whirlwind couple of weeks traveling! In fact, I’ve been so happy to be home that I’ve been hitting the words hard and have some exciting news to share!

So despite all of my travel, it has been a truly crazy busy month! After getting back from both WorldCon and DragonCon, I went straight back to work (and not Warcraft), and I’m happy to say that’s gone great! Over the past few weeks I managed to make huge progress on both The Last Sovereign and Requiem For A Blackened Heart, and best of all, I’ve officially finished the first draft of The Last Sovereign! (As an early heads up, I’m probably going to end up changing that name, so if you see me talking about something new, that’s going to likely be it!)

Anyway, my plan going forward is to spend the next few days polishing The Last Sovereign up so that it’s ready to go into editing, then throw the rest of my time into Requiem so that I can finish off Book 3. Once that is done, I’m expecting to shift gears later this month into editing The Blood Crown so we can get that one off into editing too! (And of course planning out book 2 of that series, and getting my mind wrapped around AsO 6 and Here Be Dragons 1). I have no doubt it’s going to be a busy month, but right now my plan is to hopefully take some time off in December so I can relax and enjoy the holidays without any guilt on my mind.

Next up, I’m thrilled to say that Aetherforged: Heart of Radiance, co-written by Harmon and myself, will be releasing on October 6th! This is the third and final book, and it will finally wrap up the Aetherforged series for good! I’m very excited to see what you all think and how everything comes together!

If you’re interested in grabbing it before it goes live, you can pre-order both the Ebook and the Audiobook right now!

Check it out on: Amazon (Ebook) or Audible (Audiobook)

Harmon and I have had an absolute blast writing this series together, and I truly hope you all enjoy it and its awesome finish!

I’m beyond excited to announce that Requiem For A Fallen World, the very first book in my brand new Requiem series with Aethon, is officially up for pre-order and will be releasing on March 9th, 2027! I am so thrilled to finally have a date locked in for the full book and can’t wait to hear what you all think of it!

Whether you’ve been following along with the web serial since the very first chapter or you’re planning to jump in completely fresh, pre-ordering now is the best way to make sure it lands in your hands the moment it releases! Every pre-order also goes a long way toward giving a brand new series a strong start, so all the support you can give now is hugely appreciated!

The audiobook and other details will be forthcoming soon as well!! So stay tuned!

Now for some exciting event news! If you’re going to be anywhere near Salt Lake City, Utah this December, I’d love to see you at The Ultimate LitRPG Side Quest! This is going to be a huge author signing event happening on December 2nd, right before Dragonsteel, and I’ll be there alongside an absolutely awesome lineup of fellow authors, including Travis Deverell, Jaime Castle, Drew Hayes, Seth Ring, Andrew Givler, Haylock Jobson, Michael Chatfield, and Travis Bagwell!

The event runs from 6PM to 8PM at Church & State (370 South 300 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84111), so if you’re going to be in the area and want to meet all these awesome authors, make sure to get your tickets now!

We’re a broken record at this point, but with the holiday season coming, I simply can’t relent: Ascend Online is getting a special traditionally published hard cover version through Aethon and if you want to see more from the series, please help me by pre-ordering it! This is the best stocking stuffer, missile, cannon ammunition, doorstop, or makeshift club that money can buy!

Oh, and I guess you can also read it too.

Available at Barnes and Noble this book is a fancy new edition that will be available at all major retailers across the world and like I said before, I need your help to make that happen! The more copies we get pre-ordered the more shelf space they’ll reserve for us! So, all the support that you can give us now, will only help us down the road for more!

I’ve got one last busy month ahead of me before I can sort of rest, so I want to make the most of it! I hope that you all enjoy the release of Heart of Radiance and maybe if we’re lucky, the serial release of Requiem 2 for all of my Royal Road and Patreon readers! In the meantime, I hope you all stay happy and healthy and we’ll see you next time!

It’s Dragontember!

Hi everyone! Happy September! I hope you’ve all been doing wonderfully as we head into the tail end of summer! Things have been trucking along as per usual here with another productive month here on my end and of course a fantastic time down at WorldCon in Anaheim! Before I get into anything else, I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to see me at the convention. Getting to meet so many of you, speak at the panels, and put faces to names is one of my favorite things to do! Now, with WorldCon behind me and DragonCon right on the horizon (literally, I’m flying in the air as this email goes out!), I’ve got a bunch of exciting news to share, so let’s jump right in!

September 2026 Writing Update

Starting off with the most exciting news, I’m happy to say that Requiem For A Forsaken Child has been completely finished and sent off for editing! I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to swing the same cadence that I had earlier with Starbreaker, but so far things seem to be trucking along here on the writing front and I am very happy to have another book wrapped and out of my hands! Unfortunately I still don’t have any idea as to when this next book will be officially released, so stay tuned in the meantime!

In any case, with Requiem 2 off my plate I was able to shift focus and work away on both The Last Sovereign and Ascend Online 6. Both are coming along nicely, and my current target is to finish The Last Sovereign by October so that it can head off to editing right on schedule. Once that book is sent off into the void, my plan is to keep plugging away on both Ascend Online 6 and Requiem For A Blackened Heart, especially since I am anticipating the former to be a longer one as per usual. Regardless, we are making progress and if you’ve been waiting for the next Ascend Online, rest assured that I’m on it and on schedule!

Here’s some great news that hopefully your wallet will thank me for! We’ve got a whole batch of big sales coming up across several of my series, so if you or someone you know has been meaning to jump into any of them, now is absolutely the best time to do it! Here’s the full rundown of what’s on sale and when:

Whether you’re looking to start a brand new series or fill in a few gaps in your collection, these sales are the perfect opportunity to stock up. So go treat yourself, and happy reading!

As promised last month, I’ve now got my full DragonCon schedule sorted out and ready to share! I’m going to be all over the place this year with a fantastic lineup of panels, so if you’re going to be at the convention and want to come find me, here’s exactly where and when you can do it:

Be sure to double-check the online program guide for the most up-to-date room information, and as always, if you spot me around the convention, please don’t hesitate to come say hello! I’d love to meet you!

I know we had this up last month, but in the interest of getting the word out, this is going to be a staple line for the next few months: Ascend Online is getting a special traditionally published hard cover version through Aethon and if you want to see more from the series, please help me by pre-ordering it!

And that brings another crazy busy, book-filled month to a close! Now it’s back to the keyboard (or more likely my remarkable tablet if I’m still on the plane as you all read this!) for me as I chase down that October goal for The Last Sovereign! (And my sanity)

I’ll be back again with another email to remind you all about the sale when it goes live, but until then and afterwards, I hope you all stay happy and healthy, and enjoy these last stretches of summer! See you all soon! (or at DragonCon!)
